RESTEQ is a silver 1 mm solder wire on a 50 g plastic spool. The rosin flux in its core, about 2%, is solid, non-aqueous and chemically active, so joints wet without extra flux. The low-melting alloy melts at about 183 °C. It is chosen for board and prototype soldering, phone and laptop repair, appliance wiring, teaching and robotics.

What you get

  • Better wetting on old wires — the chemically active flux cleans the surface.
  • Fewer tools on the bench — about 2% rosin is already inside the wire.
  • Fast tinning — the 1 mm gauge coats a wire or contact quickly.
  • Moderate temperature — the low-melting alloy melts at about 183 °C.
  • A tidy workshop — wire on a plastic spool, 50 g.

Who it is for

Home DIYers fixing wiring and contacts in appliances; people repairing phones, tablets and laptops; students and mentors in robotics clubs; developers assembling prototypes on circuit boards.

Who should look elsewhere

If you need a documented alloy composition or definitely lead-free solder, pick another product: the supplier gives only the alloy type, tin-lead, without percentages. Heavy metal parts are awkward to solder with this wire.

Applications and compatibility

Soldering circuit boards and prototypes, repairing smartphones, tablets and laptops, joining wires and contacts in household appliances, teaching and DIY projects, robotics. The supplier does not name specific equipment models the wire is compatible with.

Questions and answers

What does a chemically active flux do?

When heated it reacts with the oxide film and cleans the metal, so solder flows better even on wires that are not fresh.

Can I use it on household appliance wiring?

Yes, the supplier lists joining wires and contacts in household appliances among its uses.

Is 1 mm convenient for circuit boards?

For through-hole parts and medium pads, yes. On small SMD packages, feed the wire in short bursts.

How much solder is on the spool?

The solder weight is 50 g. The supplier does not give the wire length.
